Jarbidge Trip

We had so much fun on our family trip to Jarbidge this year! We kind of planned it on a whim, found out we had the weekend off for the fourth of July, talked my Mom and discovered other family was planning on coming, I have been feeling healthy, so we said what the heck let’s go! Brad and I really don’t love long car rides with the kids, but it’s between 7 and 8 hours to drive there, and it wasn’t too bad. We had such a blast! We left Thursday afternoon and got there that night. So we were able to spend all of Friday and Saturday playing with family, then started the trip back home Sunday morning. We absolutely loved it! And thanks to my awesome sis in law Brittney for setting up some shared photos with us. Between the two of us, we got some great shots of the weekend fun!

Drive in to Jarbidge

We got some beautiful views as we headed into the canyon where the little town of Jarbidge is. We saw tons of animals too, including elk and Antelope. Sometimes coming over the hill and catching another glimpse of a mountain range or canyon is just breathtaking!

Friday

 The little town there has a parade every year, so we decked out the ATV’s and joined in the festivities

After the parade, we went back to the cabin and got to enjoy some r&r time and visiting with everyone

Some of us camped out on the lawn since there weren't enough rooms for everyone to stay in the cabin. The weather was perfect for tent sleeping and we got to fall asleep by the sound of the creek each night and see some amazing stars too!! 

 Then we headed out for some swimming in the icy cold water hole! It was FREEZING! But if the sun was hot enough, it would help offset the cold a little and most of us got in at least half way. 

The adults went back for more swimming Saturday too, and the little kids got out the kiddie pool to enjoy and keep cool

We ended the day with a yummy BBQ, everything tasted so good after a long fun day!

Saturday

Saturday there were more festivities for the Fourth of July weekend. The little town set up games for everyone to play at the park. Trevor and I were needing a nap, so we missed out on the games, but everyone had a great time!

Part of the fun of the weekend was just the outdoor time where the kids would just walk in the forest (as they’d say) and play and explore and throw rocks in the river, etc. The four wheeler and Razor rides through the town or around the hills was another one of everyone’s favorite things to do.

After some down time, we headed up to the hills for a hike before dinner. It was a really pretty hike in the trees for the most part until the end. Then you come out onto a hill with a pretty overlook. We got to explore an old mine shaft. We were all surprised how far back it went!

Saturday night after dinner we got out the sparklers, lit the bonfire and roasted up some marshmallows. We all stayed up way too late, but had so much fun hanging out.

Sunday

Sunday morning some of us had to leave for the long drive home, so we ate breakfast, took some pictures and said our goodbyes until next time! 

So glad for all of the fun we got to have!!
