Our Christmas recital was extra special this year. We had a hard time co-ordinating with all of the families for a good day that worked for everyone, so we ended up with a small group and decided to have our recital at one of the rest homes in Sparks. There was an extra feeling of love and service as the kids each played their Christmas songs and took time afterwards to visit with the Elderly there. I decided to play and sing “Where Are You Christmas” for my piece and we finished off the recital with singing "Silent Night" as a group. One of the parents got really choked up and told me being there with the elderly brought back such great memories of when she was a youth doing service at different rest homes where she grew up. It was really a great experience and I hope we can plan something again like this.
